PAK LÉ
GAMES CAFÉ

PARKLAND GREEN, EAST COAST PARK SINGAPORE

Influenced by Singapore's old school games such as 'Gasing', Pick a Stick, Five stones and Hopscotch.
The interior design delivers the nostalgia in '2050' with a traditional and fun environment.

PAK LÉ is a café specially designed to target families. As upon research, East Coast Park will have a increasing number of new residential flat being launched in the future. Therefore, I believe that a café in '2050' that involved human touch which create or bring back childhood memories able to be a popular gathering place for family members at all aged.

^The different height is to bring a sense of excitement when family walking through. PAK LÉ is also a wheelchair-friendly café, family members on wheelchair can use the ramp installed at the most left of the picture shown above.

^The arrangement of PAK LÉ is inspired by the old school games- Hopscotch. With this arrangement, allowed to achieve the design philosophy of PAK LÉ, "Play Before Your Meals".Different wood-texture elements have been used at the space of 355m² to clearly segregate the different activities at different area.

ENTRANCE

^Upon Entrance, the families will be welcomed by the digital interactive panel to order their food and purchase products which also represent the 2050 café. The semi-open ceiling build with different direction of louver panels to create the different shadows pattern for the interior when sunlight hits in.

DINING AREA

^ There is two different levels of dining area. The bottom level will be mostly used for family members with wheelchair user.

^ The upper level is inspired by the malay's attap house with malay's eating culture by sitting on the floor to have the meals. The Railing to the upper level is leading by the frosted glass and is surrounded by the colourful windows to bring out the traditional ambience.
